2010 MAMA Results

The online and mobile vote results are out for the ‘2010 MAMA‘ (Mnet Asian Music Awards)!
A total of 550,605 people from all over Asia participated in the polls, with the majority of voters being females in their twenties. These votes are factored into the final awards selection, and make up anywhere from 10-30% of the criteria for winners.
The results are as follows:

  • Best New Female Artist: miss A
  • Best Male Group: Super Junior
  • Best Female Group: 2NE1
  • Best Male Solo Artist: Rain
  • Best Female Solo Artist: BoA
  • Best Solo Dance Performance: Rain

  • Best Dance Performance (Female): 2NE1
  • Best Solo Vocal Performance: Gummy
  • Best Vocal Performance (Group): 2AM
  • Best Band Performance: FT Island

[PHOTOS] miss A having fun before their fan meeting


miss A’s Suzy and Jia recently posted a few photos of the group having fun before attending their fan meet.
In the photos, you can see Suzy and Min taking alternative turns in wearing a pair of big black framed glasses, while the other members give cute and fun poses for the camera.
miss A are currently signed to model for clothing brand, E, for which they recently held a promotional fan meeting on December 21st in Gyeonggi-do.

[NEWS] U-KISS successfully completes performances at “Kings of Freedom” concert


U-KISS put their fans in a frenzy after performing at the “Kings of Freedom Concert” in Singapore on the night of November 19th.
The boys performed their latest track, “Shut Up!“, along with “Man Man Ha Ni,” “Bingeul Bingeul,” and others.
The freedom concert is one of Singapore’s representative music festivals, and U-KISS was invited as one of the only foreign musicians. Over 5,000 people gathered for the concert.
U-KISS held a short press conference at Singapore’s Korea Plaza and stated, “This is our third visit to Singapore and we feel that it’s a great honor to be able to participate in such a great concert. We will work our hardest to show the charms of Korean music.
Yong Sun Joong of the Singaporean branch of the Korea Tourism Organization added, “A lot of people in Singapore have much interest in Korean music. U-KISS helped improve Korea’s image and promote tourism as well.”

[NEWS] U-Kiss says goodbye at “2010 Love Sharing Concert”


Having recently celebrated their 800th day anniversary, the U-Kiss boys wrapped up their promotions for “Shut Up” at the “2010 Love Sharing Concert“.
The U-Kiss boys have certainly put on great performances in the course of their promotions, and their fans are loving every minute of it.
But good things have to end someday, so let’s enjoy their goodbye stage today.
Technically, it’s Inkigayo, as “2010 Love Sharing Concert” is just taking its place this week.

[NEWS+PHOTOS+VIDEO] miss A’s Min and Jia make the opening pitch for Doosan Bears


It has been quite a while since we had idol members make the opening pitch and today at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium, Min and Jia from miss A had the honor of doing so for the home team.
Ahead of making a return to the stage next week with full-fledged promotions for their new single, “Step Up“, Min and Jia were invited to make the opening pitch for the Doosan Bears in their evening baseball league game against Lotte Giants on September 29th.
Jia expressed, “We are happy to be invited to do the opening pitch for such an important game and we hope that the Doosan Bears will win the game!”

[PHOTO] miss A’s Min poses with Lin Yu Chun


miss A’s Min has uploaded a picture she took with worldwide superstar Lin Yu Chun.
On November 14th, she tweeted, “He’s one of the best singers I’ve ever met, Taiwan’s Lin Yu Chun.” In the picture, the two are posing sweetly with their respective victory and thumbs up signs.
Lin Yu Chun entered “Superstar Avenue” a popular audition program in Taiwan, this past May with his impressive rendition of  Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” Nicknamed “Taiwan’s Susan Boyle,” he has won the hearts of many and earned international fame for his clear, beautiful voice.

[PHOTOS] miss A’s Suzy reveals photos from “Dream High” set


miss A’s Suzy revealed pictures from the set of KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama, “Dream High“.

On November 14th, she posted four separate pictures from the set onto her personal Twitter. Her first tweet reads, ”kekeke Orange hair matches better than I thought!”
She then continued with, “Su and Jung…! (Who are they keke)” and “kekekeke agh, Su & Jung
Finally, she demanded, “Cutie Seohyun, where are you looking… look here!!!
Suzy was unable to perform at the “2010 Love Sharing Concert” and “SBS 20th Anniversary Celebration Event” with miss A due to her participation in the filming of “Dream High.”
